AIM IS GOING TO GHANA!!!
In November 2023, Artists in Motion (AIM) will be immersing themselves in the richness of a cultural experience on a trip to Ghana to engage with dancers in Accra & Elmina. The company will engage with local communities, learn from traditional and contemporary dancers, plus participate in cultural exchange activities. This trip offers an opportunity to expand the artistic language within AIM’s dance discipline, as well as deepen understanding and appreciation for Ghanaian culture.
As a multi-disciplinary dance company based in Toronto, AIM is Black Led, Black Focus and Black Serving. Active for the past 15 years under the direction of Shameka Blake, AIM is dedicated to creating works that motivate present and future generations to use their voices to shed light on the issue of social justice and the perspective on Black Culture. We are passionate about contributing to the likeness of the black community and those in agreement with our mission statement.
This trip to Ghana furthers our mission to provide dancers with an impactful cultural exchange as we foster international cross-cultural understanding and appreciation through dance.
Our goal is to raise $10,000.00 to help cover expenses of the trip for the company.
Help us make this trip a reality allowing company members to gain valuable knowledge and inspiration that will impact their artistic and life journey. Your donation in any amount will be greatly appreciated and be directly contributing to the success of this important excursion.
